How it all started

Read on to find out

It all started
with a question.

What do Pakistani entrepreneurs need?

To get to the answer, we spoke to startups within the local community and asked them regarding their needs and requirements. We looked at our own experiences as entrepreneurs and thought about all the things we would have loved to have when we took our first steps.

The answer was clear. Entrepreneurs in Karachi needed a place where they could meet people like themselves who were also trying to change the world. They needed connections, mentoring, training and access to capital. And that is what we set out to provide in the form of The Nest I/O.

We explored tech hubs, co-working spaces and startup communities on our travels to the US, the Far East and Europe.

With the help of designers who understood our vision, a team of talented entrepreneurial enthusiasts and an army of volunteers who generously gave us their input, their time and their blessings, this thought became a reality.

The Nest I/O officially opened its doors on 14th January, 2015 and has since then quickly made a name for itself in the realm of innovation by constantly redefining what it means to be an entrepreneur. Over the past five years, a variety of people from different walks of life have graced this space with their ideas, their passion and their energy, and we intend on welcoming many more in the years to come.

Half a decade later, The Nest I/O is no longer just an incubator. It’s a community hub which is home to nearly 200 startups and has welcomed thousands of entrepreneurs, students and professionals, to not just learn from us and our network of mentors and industry experts, but also to learn from one another.

Today, we guide entrepreneurs through their startup journeys, put together Pakistan’s premier entrepreneurship conference, and make sure there’s a safe space in the heart of the city, for anyone with an idea, for anyone who wants to learn, for anyone who needs it.

Welcome to The Nest I/O.
