Naeem Zamindar is the Managing Director of Zamindar Capital, Chairman and teacher for the Art of Living Foundation Pakistan (www.artofliving.org), Council Member of the Punjab Vocational Training Council (www.pvtc.gop.pk), Advisory Board of The Center for Entrepreneurial Development (http://ced.iba.edu.pk/), and the President of the Lahore chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (www.tie.org).
Naeem Zamindar brings over a quarter of a century to assemble a career in which he started as an CPA and then moved on to successfully develop large business opportunities in mobile telephony, broadband, new media and information technology. Relying on his talents as an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, he has handled scaling of businesses and business turnarounds. As CEO of Wateen he has turned around Wateen Telecom from a loss making to a profitable company over the past 3 years. He has positioned Wateen into one of the leading technology and communication providers of Pakistan. He is also one of the founding team members of Mobilink, and was a key member of the leadership team that grew Mobilink to become the leading telecom company of Pakistan. As the Chief Strategy Officer, he led the initiative of making Mobilink an integrated telecom company by enabling the nationwide fiber optic network and through the acquisition of four companies that now form the Broadband Business Division. He developed his passion for venture capital at Intel Capital in the Silicon Valley where he worked on 29 venture capital investments focused on building companies in the internet/new media and wireless broadband space.
Naeem Zamindar is currently focusing on Zamindar Capital, a fund that he had founded in September 2009. The firm specializes in developing companies that are leveraging technology to leapfrog social and economic development. He believes that innovations in technology, human development and business models will disrupt every industry, creating opportunities that will enable Pakistan to become a prosperous, progressive and peaceful country.
He qualified as a CPA from the State of Washington and has an MBA from INSEAD. He spends his spare time volunteering for the International Association for Human Values organizing humanitarian activities and social development programs and teaching people the Art of Living courses on how to live a more stress free, peaceful and responsible life.
